Neighborhood
Cottage Home is one of Indianapolis’ most distinctive historic neighborhoods, and we’re proud to call it home. Just east of downtown, the neighborhood is known for its tree-lined streets, colorful historic cottages, welcoming community, and strong sense of local character. Many of the homes here date back to the late 1800s, giving Cottage Home a charm that feels completely different from a typical downtown development. The neighborhood has been carefully preserved and cared for by residents for decades, with community gardens, green spaces, neighborhood events, and a community-owned park at its heart. One of our favorite things about living here is the balance. You’re tucked into a residential neighborhood where you can slow down and enjoy the historic surroundings, but you’re still close to the energy of downtown Indianapolis. Mass Ave and the Bottleworks District are nearby, making it easy to reach some of the city’s best restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shopping, entertainment, and nightlife. Cottage Home has a genuine neighborhood feel that is increasingly hard to find this close to downtown. Neighbors take pride in their homes, gardens, shared spaces, and the history of the area, and you’ll notice that character as soon as you arrive. We love this part of Indianapolis and hope you enjoy experiencing it as more than just a place to sleep. Take a walk, admire the historic homes, explore nearby Mass Ave, and enjoy having a quiet neighborhood home base just minutes from the heart of the city.
Guest Access
Good to know
Guests have exclusive access to the entire main house, including 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining areas, and indoor gathering spaces. The home sleeps up to 8 guests across 4 queen beds. Outdoors, guests can enjoy the landscaped backyard, hot tub, fire pit, and outdoor seating. The backyard is shared with the detached carriage house, where the host lives separately. Your indoor space is completely private.
Other Details to Note
The host lives in a separate detached carriage house on the property. The backyard is shared, and the host may occasionally pass through it, primarily to let dogs outside. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM. Parties and events are not permitted, though some small gatherings may be approved in advance. Pets are not permitted. Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the home, but responsible outdoor smoking is allowed. Parking is available in a lot approximately two houses west of the property, with room for multiple vehicles. There is an exterior doorbell camera for property security. Additional visible camera housings on the property are nonfunctioning decoys and do not record. The home is historic, so you may notice some of the character and quirks that come with an older property.
